You may choose a school from the following cities: Madrid or Salamanca.
Madrid
The Madrid language program is located in the center of the city in a beautifully renovated school, offering comfort and good service to our students. The school offers easy access to any part of the city, situated only 5 minutes from 9 bus lines and 5 subway stations.
Salamanca
The school is located in the center of Salamanca, the most populated area of the city, only a short walk to the famous Plaza Mayor. The school is housed in a 6-story historical building, which was the convent of the "Teresianas" order in earlier times. The building has been restored and equipped with modern facilities.
Host families for the language school program receive a minimal fee for room and board as is customary in Spain.
Class Size: Class size varies, with a maximum of 10 students of varying nationalities.
Courses: Courses are conducted by highly qualified, specialized Spanish teachers. There are 6 levels: basic, elementary, intermediate 1, intermediate 2, advanced, and proficient. Participants will take an oral and written test on the first Monday of their arrival to determine the appropriate level.
There are 20 instructional hours per week with each course is divided into grammar and conversation. Emphasis is placed on the four language skills, reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as the conversational, pragmatic, and functional aspects of the language. Grammatical structure is also emphasized.
This independent homestay program is recommended for mature students who are experienced in travel, can make connecting flights to Madrid or Salamanca without assistance, and are comfortable without chaperone supervision while in Spain. By making your own travel arrangements, you gain flexibility in choosing travel dates that best fit your schedule, and allows you the advantage of using your frequent flyer miles. You still have the same access to our support network during your stay abroad. Escorts abroad will meet you upon arrival and departure. Deadline for summer program applications is May 31st.
Program Note: Single room accommodation, full board accommodation, and all excursions included in program price. Participants should bring approximately 30 Euros per week for public transportation to and from school.
